Gamedev with a Newborn

In case you’re wondering, game development is hard to keep up with when dealing with an infant. Now, I went into this knowing the first 4 weeks would be baby and family first. But, I secretly had hope that I would have some spare time to keep the game moving forward. Now that the first month is over, I’ve worked a grand total of:

16 hours

I did everything in my power to try and get an hour per day, but it just wasn’t happening. From family visiting, doctors, the unpredictable nature of newborns, and helping my wife out, it’s just hard to get any serious work done.

As we enter month two, I’m starting a guaranteed 25 hours a week with the ability to go up to 35 hours when the schedule is smooth. Let’s see how it goes.

1 of you did not hold your tongue!
